SDMAE100 Moisture and Ash Analyzer

The SDMAE100 Moisture and Ash Analyzer is designed for automated determination of moisture and ash in food, grain and oil products, food additives, paper products, plastics, feed, tobacco and other materials. Equipped with an integrated analytical balance, automated furnace lid and programmable testing system, it completes weighing, heating, constant-weight determination and result calculation with minimal operator intervention.

Up to 10 samples can be loaded in a single batch, with moisture and ash results obtained automatically according to standard methods or user-defined test procedures. The analyzer also records mass changes throughout the heating process, enabling basic thermogravimetric process analysis. Its large-capacity crucibles, selectable gas atmosphere and efficient fume extraction system make it suitable for laboratories requiring representative results, flexible testing and improved operational safety.

Key Features

Fully Automated Moisture and Ash Analysis
Automatically performs furnace lid operation, sample weighing, heating, constant-weight evaluation and result calculation. Moisture and ash results can be obtained from a single batch loading, significantly reducing manual work and operator exposure to high-temperature radiation.

Flexible Standard and Custom Test Programs
Supports methods specified in applicable national standards and allows users to configure customized temperature programs and testing procedures. Results can be generated automatically once the defined constant-weight criterion is reached.

Integrated High-Precision Weighing
The built-in analytical balance provides a readability of 0.0001 g, enabling continuous and accurate monitoring of sample mass throughout drying and ignition.

Large Sample Capacity for Better Representativeness
Supports user-defined sample weights from 0.5 to 50 g. The large sample capacity helps improve the representativeness of heterogeneous materials and reduces errors caused by insufficient sample quantity.

Large, Corrosion-Resistant Crucibles
Wide-opening crucibles with resistance to acids and alkalis improve heat transfer, drying and ignition performance, helping deliver more reliable moisture and ash results.

Programmable Atmosphere Control
Testing can be carried out under air, nitrogen or oxygen, allowing the instrument to accommodate different materials and analytical procedures.

Thermogravimetric Process Monitoring
Records sample mass changes during the heating process, providing data for evaluating drying, decomposition, combustion and residue formation behavior.

Efficient Fume Extraction
The optimized exhaust system effectively removes smoke and odors generated during ignition, reducing their impact on laboratory personnel and the surrounding environment.

High-Temperature, Multi-Sample Operation
Accommodates up to 10 samples per batch, with a furnace temperature range from ambient to 1000°C and temperature control accuracy of ±2°C.

FAQs

The SDMAE100 is designed for fully automated moisture and ash analysis of food, grains and oils, food additives, paper products, plastics, and other materials. It can also continuously record sample mass changes during heating, making it suitable for research applications requiring thermogravimetric analysis.

The analyzer can process up to 10 samples in a single batch. It automatically performs crucible-lid opening and closing, weighing, heating, and result calculation. Compared with manual testing, it significantly improves laboratory efficiency while reducing operators’ exposure to high-temperature radiation.

The analyzer supports a configurable sample weight ranging from 0.5 g to 50 g, which is significantly greater than the few grams typically used by conventional instruments. Combined with large, wide-mouth crucibles that are resistant to acids and alkalis, the system ensures more thorough drying and ashing. The larger sample size also improves the representativeness of the analytical results.

The system offers highly flexible operation. It supports standard test methods such as GB 5009.3, GB 5009.4, and GB/T 9345.1, covering applications in food, plastics, animal feed, tobacco, paper products, and other industries. Users can also customize test procedures. Results are generated automatically once a constant mass is reached, helping shorten the overall analysis time.

The analyzer is equipped with an efficient exhaust system that minimizes smoke and odors generated during the ashing process, reducing their impact on laboratory personnel and the surrounding environment. Its fully automated lid-handling and weighing mechanisms eliminate the need for operators to work close to the high-temperature furnace, substantially reducing the risk of heat-radiation exposure.

All test data are automatically saved and can be retrieved for traceability. Results can be exported or integrated with a laboratory information management system, or LIMS, helping laboratories meet stringent data-integrity, regulatory-compliance, and quality-traceability requirements in industries such as food and pharmaceuticals.
